Brighter Tomorrows One Vote At A Time

Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women

Welcome!

The Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women is an organization of women Democrat activists in Tennessee.  TFDW is an affiliate of the National Federation of Democratic Women. Our Democratic Women activists strongly support the Democratic Party agenda on the local, state, and nation levels. We work to elect Democrats - especially women Democrats to public office and to promote women of leadership in the Democratic Party.

Women Democrats support issues and causes related to feminism, civil rights, labor, healthcare, government transparency, education, technology and the environment. We actively participate online and in our communities to guard, educate and activate to make sure that individual rights are protected, equality is maintained, and bigotry doesn't prevail. We work to support Democratic ideals as well as the party platform and we support Democrats that are currently in office.
The state chapter of the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women is divided into three Grand Divisions: East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and West Tennessee. Each grand division has county chapters headed by club presidents. Our chapters  encourage  women to be active in their community, promoting the image of Democrats as well as the ideals of the party, while acknowledging that big change often starts with a little change.

If there is not a local chapter in your respective counties, or if there are any questions, please message us, or one of our supporting pages on Facebook and twitter. TFDW welcomes individual members as well as county groups.  Our websites/pages are monitored and your inquiry will be responded to at the earliest opportunity. We will be more than happy to answer your questions about the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women, direct you to the appropriate person to answer any questions you may have about the National Federation of Democratic Women, Tennessee voting, politics, the Tennessee Democratic Party, National Democratic Party and/or future Democratic Party candidates.Just click on the CONTACT button, we'd love to hear from you!

Congratulations!

The Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women proudly congratulate our newly elected State Senators. They are from left to right front row:

State Senator Raumesh Akbani, District 29

State Senator Katrina Robinson, District 33

State Senator Brenda Gilmore, District 19

These outstanding ladies made history! Never before in the State of Tennessee has three Black women been elected to served in the Tennessee State House in the same election cycle.

As we know, this could not have been possible without the combined hard work of these outstanding women and ALL those who worked diligently to help get them elected.

Great things are happening in Tennessee! Tennessee Democrats will continue to press forward and support great candidates regardless of race, creed or color. Photo credit (WTF Women)

Why were Democratic Party members of the United States House of Representatives dressed in white? Was it to coordinate with the snow? A resounding NO! is the answer to that question. Please watch the video below to find out why.

Glenda Carter, president of the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women, traveled from Jackson to conduct the installation ceremony for the Wilson County Democratic Women. The officers for 2019 who will continue their two-year terms are (from left) president Terri St. Clair, first vice-president Charlene Foutch, second vice-president Sharon Haack, secretary Marilyn Bryant and treasurer Beverly Way.
